Fall Festival : A competitive solo performance event held annually at an Arvada church.
Ensemble Festival : A less competitive event for duets (at one piano) and duos (at 2 pianos). Held annually at the University of Colorado. Students perform on concert grand pianos!
Achievement Day: For all students. An evaluation only event held in the Spring with the emphasis on creativity and music knowledge. Students perform for an individual listener in a non-competitive setting.
CSMTA Student Performance Activities (State level) : Honors (evaluation only) and Artist (competitive) auditions. Held in June each year during the annual conference of Colorado State Music Teachers Association.
MTNA auditions (Divisional & National levels): Held at various times during the year.
There is an additional fee to enter each of the above events.
There are four recitals offered during the year: Fall, Holiday, Spring and Summer. These are held either in my home or in a local Arvada church each year. Memorizing pieces is encouraged but not required at these recitals. Depending on the size of the class ear-training and other activities may be included at the Summer and Fall recitals. Students or parents may decide whether or not they wish to attend each recital. Parents may attend all recitals but sometimes other guests must be limited if it is held in my home.
Notices will be sent out for events and recitals as a reminder to you. There is no charge for the recitals as they are covered by your monthly tuition.
